EU reveal interest in boosting Ukraine's energy system

The EU is extremely interested in providing assistance to Ukraine and it is ready to cooperate in implementing programs on decentralization, energy saving and energy efficiency, vocational education, assistance to IDPs and cultural exchange.

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli announced the interest during a meeting with Chairman of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Kostiantyn Bryl.

"The EU is extremely interested in providing assistance for the implementation of reforms, in particular, decentralization. We pay great attention to the energy efficiency sector, in which the EU is ready to invest about 100 million euros," he said.

"We are also developing a program worth about 50 million euros to support internally displaced persons to help them get not only housing but also jobs. If Zaporizhzhia region is interested, I am ready to help and tell you how to get the money. Another important direction, which is being prepared for implementation in Ukraine, is support for the reform of vocational education.

"At present, this project is being developed jointly with Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych. I believe that Zaporizhzhia as an industrial city will also be interested in this direction."
