Good Energy pioneers new 100% renewable EV charging service

Good Energy has launched an electric vehicle charging offering, One Point, for UK businesses.

The renewables specialist has installed four electric vehicle charging points under a pilot programme at the Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall as part of its latest move into the electric vehicle and energy sharing market.

Good Energy will supply 100 per cent renewable energy to the charge points, while also recommending, installing and maintaining the charging services, having agreed partnerships with Swarco and RAW Infrastructure.

Good Energy founder & Chief Executive Juliet Davenport believes the launch of One Point goes “one step further” than other services.

“We are offering businesses a simple, easy-to-use service allowing their customers and employees to go entirely renewable in their electric vehicles, helping decarbonise the transport industry,” she said.

“This is a really exciting progression in Good Energy's low carbon journey.”

Good Energy expects the number of electric vehicles on the UK roads to top 1 million by 2022, amounting to three per cent of road traffic, or three EV charges for every 100 car parking spaces.

The announcement comes after Good Energy took a 13 per cent stake in Zap-Map, a UK based electric vehicle digital charging platform, earlier this year.
